Mario Kart 8

THE WII U JUST MIGHT FAIL MORE...AND BRING MARIO WITH IT

This was the game that was meant to safe the Wii U but sadly with sales slowly going even further down into the abyss one game cannot save it...Can it?

Sadly no. While Mario Kart 8 lives up to all the hype the Wii U still fails and it is a shame since this game is pretty solid for a racing game and a Mario game while bringing back customization of vehicles which were in Mario Kart 7 and introduces a couple of new elements such as the anti-gravity racing (yes, this is actually pretty awesome) and gives you a few new characters to play around with such as the koopalings, Baby Rosilana and Pink Gold peach while also giving you some new weapons such as the Boomerang flower which may sound rubbish but really is fun. The piranha plant which is just destruction in a plant that attacks everything, from enemies to just barriers, it just destroys them.

But while there are some new features, there are also some problems with the online where it can sometimes just stop working even though you could be right next to the modem and while with online you can customize tournaments with friends, do you really want to do so on such a lack luster console, surprisingly you actually do. What the Wii U fails at, this game makes the fails excel into greatness and offers such a fun family experience that you actually forget the small little problems and just enjoy the game because this is a family style game so you nearly forget it has an online as you just enjoy the sheer excellence of what could of made a failing console a surprise hit but sadly with the Wii U sales declining, this could be one of the few Mario games which are forgettable which of course would be a awful shame as this game is bold and beautiful and makes the Wii U go into fun mode.

OVER ALL 8.8/10

Fun and enjoyable for all the family and friends. Must buy on this console!
